About safeguarding adults
Safeguarding adults is about protecting adults from abuse and neglect. It is about people and organisations working together to prevent stop abuse while at the same time making sure that the adult's wellbeing is promoted. If a person working with an adult at risk is worried about abuse or neglect, they have a duty to take action.

About the Board
The Newcastle Safeguarding Adults Board is a statutory multi-agency partnership responsible for safeguarding adults from abuse and neglect. There are a number of agencies including the Council, Health Services and the Police, that are under a legal duty to work in partnership and sit on the Board in order to:
About the consultation
Each year the Board work together to produce an annual plan, the plan sets out they key areas that the Board will focus on. Here are some of the key areas of work that were included within last year's annual plan:
The Board are currently developing the annual plan for 2020-2021 and this year they would like to hear from you on what sort of things you think the partnership can do to keep people safe from harm.
