Market Position Statement - Parental Needs 2016 - This consultation has now ended

As a Cooperative Council, Newcastle aspires to ensure that services are delivered in cooperation with communities so that we can make informed choices about priorities and future service delivery.
Market Position Statements (MPS) are the first step towards achieving this cooperative ideal in the commissioning of services. They are designed to help providers and the people who use services in the city to understand what is currently on offer, and also what the council thinks services might look like in the future.
The MPS for parental needs sets a direction of travel in Newcastle towards a more family-centric, whole person approach to service provision for parents in the City - this document sets the context of how the Council would like its service provision to work in light of major transformational change such as our new approach to children's social care (Family Insights), our use of a Common Assessment Framework (CAF), the recent introduction of the revised Children and Families Act and the Care Act, as well as increasing budget pressures and the move towards more joined up working across partners, enabled by technological advances.
We would like to get your views as providers and users of services in the city on the draft MPS. Please send your comments to laura.choake@newcastle.gov.uk by 5pm 29/02/2016
