Local Flood Risk Management Plan - Consultation March 2016 - This consultation has now ended

Newcastle is at risk from many different sources of flooding including:
Flooding in Newcastle 2012

  • the rivers, denes or burns,
  • runoff from water flowing over the surface,
  • sewer flooding,
  • lakes and ponds.
A wide range of information has been reviewed to produce this draft Local Flood Risk Management Plan. We would like you to give us your views by reading the plan and completing a short survey.
The draft plan explains our objectives for managing flood risk in the City, and the activities that need to take place to allow that to happen in a sustainable way. You can view it here: NCC Flood Risk Management Plan March 2016.
Please have your say by completing the survey before Friday 25th March 2016. If you have any questions, please contact Karen Stansfield, Flood Risk Management Technician, at: karen.stansfield@newcastle.gov.uk.
After the survey closes, we will analyse what people have said, and publish key findings on the council's website: www.newcastle.gov.uk
You can find out more about our approach to flood management here: Newcastle City Council Flood Management.
