What is Housing with Care?
Housing with Care means independent flats for people aged 55+ with care staff on site 24/7. This is different to a residential care home.

What is this survey about?
Newcastle City Council wants to understand how well Housing with Care is working for the people who live in these schemes including whether the current model delivers the right care, support, safety, community connections and independence for residents. Please share your views with us before 17th July 2026 using the survey at the bottom of this page. 

Who we want to talk to
To help us improve Housing with Care services, we would like to hear from current residents, family members, carers, advocates, health professionals and voluntary / charity sector organisations.

How will we consult with people?   
Alongside this public survey, Newcastle City Council will collect feedback by holding small focus groups with residents. We will also consult with care providers and housing providers to understand their experience of delivering services through the Housing with Care framework.

What will happen next?
The information shared with us through this survey will be used to inform future recommissioning of the Housing with Care service. Please share your views with us before 17th July 2026 using the survey at the bottom of this page. We will share a summary of findings and key feedback themes on Let's talk Newcastle Online following the recommissioning process, around December 2026.
