Newcastle Obesity Review Consultation 2018 - This consultation has now ended

We would like to get the views of our partners and the public about services commissioned in Newcastle to reduce obesity, and what changes are required to help address this issue. Please click on 'show more' to learn more about this and take part.

Thank you very much for responding to the consultation on the Newcastle Public Health Obesity Review.

Please find enclosed a report on the consultation which aims to capture the main themes and issues brought up through this process.  We apologise for the delay in issuing this report but further discussions around obesity prevention are still ongoing within the Council.

The consultation was held to help inform the reconfiguration of the programmes commissioned by Newcastle City Council’s Public Health team to help prevent overweight and obesity in Newcastle.  The council is currently in the process of further reviewing the responses to the consultation and wider stakeholder views and will then be able to decide the future shape of obesity prevention work in the city.

In the interim, we are initially looking at extending the current contracts for obesity prevention and this will be reported to the relevant organisations once this has been approved.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries.

Kind regards,

David
