Adult Day Services Survey 2025 - This consultation has now ended

Please tell us your views on our day services for adults in Newcastle.

We are asking for feedback and opinions of people who have experience of using day services privately or through the council, as well as feedback from their carers, relatives, and family members. 'Day services' are places provided by social care services that people can go to for full days or half-days, where they can:
  • meet new people
  • enjoy a meal and join in social activities
  • learn new skills
  • get care and support, if they need it
  • get transport to and from the centre
You can find out more about this here: Newcastle Council Day Services and Activities
Why we want to hear from you
We are doing this because we are currently recommissioning the 'Day Opportunities' contract, which is the contract we have with organisations that provide these day services. We want to know what people think about these services, to help inform our decision-making when we award the contract.
What we would like you to do
Please answer the questions below! Most of our questions are multiple-choice, and there is space for written feedback so that you have the option to share any further comments you would like us to hear. There are four sections asking about you, your experiences of using day services (or of caring for someone who does), transport to and from the services, and what is important to you when attending a day service. You can find the questions below.
What happens next
The information will be used to help us make decisions when we recommission of our day services. Your responses are anonymous, you cannot be identified from them, and they will help us to improve our day services offer for Newcastle.
