Newcastle City Council Contaminated Land Strategy Review 2025-2030

We would like to hear your views on our draft Contaminated Land Strategy for 2025-2030.
Background
Over the past year, we have been working to update our Contaminated Land Strategy, which sets out our approach to addressing any potential land contamination in Newcastle upon Tyne. The revised draft strategy takes into account new laws and regulations that have helped to tackle contaminated land and ensure the environment remains protected, sustainable and safe to build on. It establishes a process for inspecting and dealing with any contamination that is found and allows for us to deal with any potential contamination at the early stages of development. This helps to protect people, property and the environment from contaminated land.
