We are considering ending the requirement that businesses in the night-time economy in Newcastle should pay the Late Night Levy.
What's happening?
Newcastle City Council is proposing to end the requirement that holders of premises licences or club premises certificates that authorise the supply of alcohol at any time between midnight and 6am on one or more days in a year pay a late night levy.
The Council would like your views on the proposal and will take them into account before it makes a final decision whether or not to end the levy. The consultation period runs from the date of this notice until 22 September 2026.
We propose that this should end on 31 October 2026.
